Irvine’s Help Asked For Great Park Developmental Planning

In a recent Town Hall meeting, Irvine city demanded community assistance in planning for Great Park future developments. Irvine invited the locals to take part in the discussion about the future of the park. It was the first meeting in a sequence of meetings on the matter where direct community involvement was demanded for the future layout of the park.

The recent meeting was held at a space situated in the Great Park known as Hangar 244, which is home to the Heritage and Aviation Exhibition. Besides the sequence of meetings, Irvine city has made the digital version of a foyer, involving hands-on surveys to be put to use for web outreach.

The so-called Great Park Digital Foyer offers users a three-dimensional walkthrough of the different stages of development in the park. It also looks to get community input about what Irvine natives expect to see through those surveys when new development starts.

Irvine will host a set of Town Hall conferences with GPN (Great Park Neighborhoods Community Association). On December 01, 2021, it will also hold a meeting that will keep seeking public input about the master plan of the park.

After the sequence of the meetings, Irvine will discuss the community’s findings with the Great Park Board of Directors in 2021.

On September 28, 2021, the Board voted to approve new developmental aspects in the master plan, which includes an engineering and architectural agreement for the so-called Cultural Terrace Reuse Plan.

The other future development aspects pertain to a botanical garden of 75 acres, the likely FivePoint Amphitheater relocation, and Wild Rivers Water Park.

Hangar 244 is situated in the park along the Great Park Boulevard in Irvine city. For more details about the meeting about the Great Park, feel free to visit the official website of Irvine City.
