Receiving your coronavirus vaccine shot is about to become easier. The US government will distribute the vaccines to nationwide drugstores, like Walgreens and CVS, with the hope that these would reach more individuals and accelerate vaccination. Anyhow, it would take some more time for almost all the US inhabitants to access the vaccine.

The federal government’s initiative will develop in phases, shipping the vaccine doses from February 11, 2021, according to the supplies and location. Walgreens and CVS are 2 out of the 21 drugstore chains involved in the plan, which encourage people to commit to the vaccine shots through their websites. Publix, Costco, and Rite-Aid, too, will take part in different US states.

A CDC spokesperson said that the government is offering 1 million dosages of this vaccine for the initial phase of the federal scheme. That spokesman said that it is impossible to confirm the specific number of dosages that would be offered to partner pharmacies in the coming weeks. Anyhow, he expects the weekly vaccine allocations to go up when the supply grows.

Availability and the stores that participate in the scheme will vary by state. CVS said that it plans on starting off with select places and expanding to more, according to the public’s feedback and the effectiveness of this inoculation program. You can find the US pharmacy chains that take part in it on the CDC site.

For an appointment, you will need to give a satisfactory record of your eligibility and generally adhere to your state’s regulations and guidelines. There will be instructions on Rite-Aid, Walgreens, and CVS’s websites about the way of signing up for vaccine appointments. Those will offer you the option to make your appointment through a telephone call or the internet. All of the chains discourage in-person appointment visits to stop the virus from spreading further.

All of this may sound quite like the initial rollout scheme for the vaccine, but the procedure is becoming easier. For your information, one in ten US citizens has been vaccinated by now.
